_Any_ distro will let you do this.  One of the side-effects of some of
the user-space NTLM/NTFS support has been documentation of the
registry of NT4.x/5.x (NT4.0/200x/XP).

NOTE:  I've had some issues with NTFS-based C: drives on XP SP2.  Your
