The codec was the issue, I think, it's a h.264-thingy.  I forget which
one it was but it wasn't very mainstream.  Once Quicktime7 comes out it
should be better.

That may have been part of the problem.

The video card is a Geforce 6200 (non-turbocache) on a nForce 4 mobo.  I
forget which revision of drivers I'm using but they have been updated in
the past few months.
