Ah.... That explains it!  Thanks, I've always wondered about that.

Yes, but if you show 1280x960 on a 1280x1024 panel the pixels are not
displayed evenly, giving a "lumpy" picture.  Its obviously not as bad as
showing 1024x768 though.  I might give it a try at home, just to see how
it works.

How physically large are those?  Who wants 800x600 anyway, 1280x960 is
IMHO a near perfect resolution for productivity.

Then again at work I have two 1024x768 15" LCDs, but I find just one
1024x768 screen on its own to be too restrictive.
