Did you mean 1600x1200? That's what the Dell 20.1 TFT does.
My wife has the widescreen 1680x1050, and I actually like it better
(while it still does 1280x1024 in 4:3 quite well, with a inch trimmed
off each side).
Both are heavy as crap, because they rotate. Not very ideal for
portability, but great for the stationary desktop.

They are on-sale regularly. It's around $530 shipped right now I
believe.

Community software is all about choice, choice of technology.
Unfortunately, too many Linux advocates port over the so-called
"choice" from the commercial software world, brand name marketing.
The result is false assumptions, failure to focus on the real
technical similarities, but loyalty to blind vendor alignments.
