It seems the "6-pin VGA" is the same as the "6-pin WS" from the SSI EEB
spec. It is a 2x3 block with a +3.3V and a, typically separate, +12V
line. It seems that the SSI EEB spec really laid a good foundation for
workstations that had an AGP Pro slot (the "Pro" is an extra power
connector upto 110W) that are now ideal for PCIe slots (which are always
designed for extra power).

BTW, both are very different than the "6-pin AUX" which is little more
than a 1x6 legacy connector.

Community software is all about choice, choice of technology.
Unfortunately, too many Linux advocates port over the so-called
"choice" from the commercial software world, brand name marketing.
The result is false assumptions, failure to focus on the real
technical similarities, but loyalty to blind vendor alignments.
