Medical x-rays generate a fraction of the radiation they used to.
Also, contrary to what the media/Greens/whatever would have you believe,
it takes a fairly high dose of radiation to do any real damage.
Many years ago (mid 80s) I was involved in a project that required a
trip to a nuclear power station (actually the Trawsfynydd nuclear power
station in Wales). At that time I had an analog wrist-watch with a
'glow-in-the-dark' dial. While submitting to the required 'safety scan'
with the geiger counters on exiting the facility, the radiation from the
luminous dial on my wrist-watch set off the alarm! Scared the crap
outta me =:-0
