Hi Ozz.

The problem is that Micro$oft really exceeded themselves with WinXP.

To connect to a WEP router in Win98 all you have to do is select the
network and it will ask you for your WEP passphrase, whereapon it will
connect fine.

In WinXP you have to first go into the network settings in Control
Panel, manually add the SSID of the WEP network, then manually enter the
26-bit hexdecimal WEP key, blind (as it is starred out), then again for
verification.

Once you have done this you need to then try to reconnect to the WEP
router. This time it will pop up a box into which you must again enter
the 26-bit hexdecimal WEP key, blind, twice.

Ass-U-Me-ing you get it right, you sould now be able to connect.

Way to go, Micro$oft...

Regards,
Ozz.
