Hi Guys.
I'm working on a wireless networking issue that is driving me crazy.
Here is the situation so far.
I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router, running 128-bit WEP.
I have a Linksys WUSB11v4 wireless network adapter.
When the network adapter is hooked up to a WinXP box, I can see my own
router, as well as another local router (the other router is NOT running
WEP - I know, but I have no control over that one...).
I can connect to the other (non-WEP) router just fine (!), but whenever
I try to connect to my own router, I get an error message that the
router may be off-line or out-of-range. Note - my router is only a few
(about 20) feet away from the WEP router, and about 150ft from the
non-WEP router.
BUT...
If I place the same adapter in a Win98 box (also only a few feet from
the WEP router), everything works fine; I can connect to both routers
(WEP and non-WEP) and surf the 'net.
Any ideas? This has me tearing my hair out...
Regards,
Ozz.
